Wanted to do a re-watch to see if my original thoughts had changed. I stand by my original review. Most of the cast is forgettable, having them be younger and less worn down by the system is a detriment, not enough time is spent with the characters before hell breaks loose, and some of the call backs are unnecessary fan service which feels out of place.
It’s a roller coaster thrill ride that is fine but is also pretty hollow and misses the mark compared to the original first two movies.
Andy is still the best character and I’d prefer it if they stopped trying to create a new Ripley each time as she is iconic and you’re setting yourself up to fail.
